Project activity tracking
Track project activity with a clear view of when and what was shared. Access visual timelines showing dates, package contents and design exchanges across disciplines, helping teams to understand design history, dependencies and progress in multidisciplinary projects.
Project correspondence
Keep project communication organised and connected to workflows like meetings, issues and project files. Every exchange is searchable and easy to retrieve when reviewing design records, ensuring clarity and accountability across the project.
Meetings
Schedule meetings, craft agendas and monitor attendee participation effortlessly. Generate minutes to capture critical decisions. Assign action items with due dates for increased accountability. Link references to action items for seamless in-session access. Organise follow-ups to sustain momentum in ongoing projects.
Templates
Roll out projects faster with customisable templates tailored to client and business needs. Define folder structures, roles, permissions, DWG support and shared folder locations, so every new project aligns to standards with consistent set-up, minimal effort and repeatable workflows.
ISO 19650 and customer file-naming standards
Implement, organise and manage files effortlessly with a standardised naming system. Start from the built-in ISO 19650 template or tailor your own, define attributes, import/export naming conventions and apply them across folders. Streamline data, improve clarity and reduce confusion across teams.
Insights
View metrics and trends from design reviews and coordination to track progress, identify recurring issues and monitor team performance. Customise your dashboard by adding new Autodesk and partner cards from the Card Library to tailor your view of project performance.
Permissions and control
Control and secure access to project data with role and group-based permissions. Assign the right level of visibility and editing rights for each discipline, helping to ensure that teams access only the relevant folders, packages and files, while maintaining project integrity and data security.
Reporting
Generate, schedule and share reports to track project performance and maintain transparency. Centralise key insights from issues and other data sources, ensuring that teams have the information they need to document progress, communicate updates and keep every stakeholder informed.
Specifications
Centralise and manage design specifications with ease. Import and structure documents into standard formats, link to sections to models and keep design intent aligned across teams. Maintain version control and ensure accurate coordinated specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
Multi-discipline design collaboration
Unite multidisciplinary teams in a cloud-connected environment. Exchange design data securely, track shared packages and strengthen transparency between internal and external teams for smoother coordination and faster decisions.
Design coordination
Identify and organise coordination issues efficiently with automated clash detection. Conduct clash analysis in coordination spaces using shared models stored in dedicated folders, separate from active work. Compare disciplines, explore design options and resolve conflicts with confidence.
Automated clash detection
Automatically detect conflicts across aggregated multidisciplinary models to identify and manage design issues early. Review clashes in context, prioritise severity and assign them to the right team members for resolution. Streamline coordination, reduce rework and deliver projects with greater confidence and accuracy.
Packages
Bundle your team’s models, views, sheet sets and supporting documents to share with other project teams. Preview shared packages to determine the right time or when to consume a package into your design environment.
Document linking
Link assets to necessary documentation like operations and maintenance manuals, warranties, product data sheets, laser scans and more.
Import BIM data
Source projects with data from Forma Data Management through its integration with Tandem Essentials, or manually import IFC and Revit models.
Dashboards
Speed up the twin building process with dashboards by viewing the completeness of your asset data in charts.
Facility templates
Establish a repeatable process for building digital twins. Structure data and drive consistency. Choose templates from our library or customise your own to use across multiple facilities.
Global search
In Tandem digital twin software, quickly locate documents, assets by type, specific assets, spaces, saved views and dashboards.
Asset information model
Structure data in a meaningful way. Use industry-standard classification systems to specify your asset breakdown structure or define your classification scheme.
Parameter library
Engineer your data for maximum value. Define the properties of your digital twin so that it is an accurate representation of the facility and aligns with the desired outcomes. Use standard and custom parameters to quickly import the data of interest from existing Revit files.
Spaces
Review and manage all data associated with a building’s spaces with the help of a dedicated list of rooms and levels. Visualise by level, show all associated assets, or see trends in stream data to make well-informed operational decisions.
Tag assets
Manage asset data with Tandem digital twin software. Quickly locate or update the data and documentation for your assets and make daily management and maintenance tasks simple and straightforward.
History
Keep an eye on every change that’s made to your digital twin with a comprehensive log of its users and their respective edits.
Facility transfer
Once the digital twin is complete, Autodesk Tandem allows for the ability to transfer the twin to the facility owner.
Streams
Connect IoT and BMS data to the digital twin to understand building operations via heatmaps applied to spaces and systems to time-series charts, viewing up to 14 days of data. Apply thresholds to create quick insights and alerts on system performance.
Systems
Create a traceable network of building systems. Combine 3D BIM models with automation to mirror a building’s distribution systems, visualise networks and correct breaks. Move upstream or downstream through a system to see assets in context and understand the spaces they serve.
System tracing
Visualise and understand systems in context. System tracing simplifies the navigation of complex models by automatically illustrating the path and elements within a system.
Connected workflows for better project outcomes
Model coordination
Coordinate multidiscipline designs with confidence. Aggregate models in the cloud to identify clashes automatically, create and manage issues in context, and track resolution from design to delivery – improving collaboration, reducing reworks and accelerating project coordination.
Document management
Manage all project files in one secure location with built-in version control and permissions. Ensure that teams always access the latest drawings, models and documents. Streamline reviews, reduce errors and maintain confidence that everyone is working from the most current project data.
Meetings management
Improve coordination and accountability with connected meeting management. Plan and document discussions, capture decisions and assign follow-up actions linked to project data. Keep teams aligned by tracking progress and design updates directly within your collaborative project environment.
Change management
Understand the impact of design changes across teams with connected change management. Compare model versions to visualise modifications, track what’s new or has been removed, and communicate updates in context. Keep projects aligned, minimise reworks and make informed decisions throughout design development.
Correspondence management
Get centralised communication from internal and external email sources within your connected project.
Project insights
Gain a complete view of project health with the Insight module in Forma Design Collaboration. Use customisable dashboards and cards to monitor risk, design issues, quality and safety. Create reports and share visual insights to improve decision-making and team accountability.
Project configurations
Establish project standards that guide how teams work from the start. Define templates, permissions and naming conventions to maintain consistency across disciplines and deliverables. Streamline set-up, improve governance and ensure every project begins with the right structure for collaboration and handover.
Handover a digital twin
Simplify the transition from design to operations by delivering rich BIM data that carries structure, asset data and context forwards. Models enriched with asset information and documentation become intelligent digital twins that empower facility operators to optimise performance, maintenance and energy use.
