Preconstruction is increasingly recognized as a critical phase in the construction industry, laying the foundation for successful project execution and delivery. Join us at Autodesk University (AU) for an engaging preconstruction meetup designed to bring together industry professionals who are passionate about the planning and preparation stages of construction projects. This event provides a unique platform for sharing insights, discussing innovations, and exploring best practices in preconstruction.
What comes before any successful construction project? An accurate estimate is a good place to start. You have a lot to gain from a standardized pre-con environment in Autodesk Construction Cloud, from the first schematic drawings brought into Autodesk Docs software then quantified in Autodesk Takeoff software. In this hands-on lab, you’ll gain firsthand experience in quantifying a new project’s design the right way. What we'll give you: Step 1: A standard project template will offer your team a playbook to follow for document management. Step 2: Typical items you need are present for you to quantify on the new project. What you’ll do: Step 3: (This is the hands-on part.) In accessible interactive activities, you’ll apply advanced 2D and 3D quantification tools. You’ll translate project scope into material, labor, and equipment costs to generate an accurate project estimate. Come work with us to experience the value Autodesk Construction Cloud can bring to your pre-con workflows.
This 20-minute session will explore how to create a streamlined, integrated workflow between BuildingConnected and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Learn how bids submitted through BuildingConnected are automatically saved in Autodesk Construction Cloud folders via Arkance’s custom cloud integration, eliminating manual steps and improving visibility. See how awarded bids connect directly into Cost Management, accelerating contract creation and linking preconstruction to construction operations. With centralized document management and real-time data flow, this integration enhances collaboration, reduces errors, and speeds up project start-up. It’s perfect for preconstruction and operations teams looking to improve handoffs and maximize the value of their connected tools.
In large-scale projects, digital tendering is no longer optional, it’s essential. In this session, we’ll show how one major project is moving from a slow, manual tender process to a smart, secure, and fully digital system using Autodesk’s BuildingConnected Pro and ACC Build. You’ll learn why these tools were chosen and how features like sealed bids, custom bid forms, and performance analytics help simplify work, reduce risks, and boost transparency. We’ll also walk through the rollout plan, including how we manage RFIs, get teams on board, and stay aligned with compliance and data standards. You’ll see how BC Pro and ACC Build work together to improve teamwork and keep multi-phase tendering on track. Whether you're just getting started or ready to scale up, you’ll leave with real-world tips and strategies to modernize your tendering process.
The mission of the SE 2050 Commitment is to support the SE 2050 Challenge and transform the practice of structural engineering in a holistic, firm-wide, project-based, and data-driven way. By prioritizing reduction of embodied carbon through the use of less and/or less-impactful structural materials, participating firms can more easily work toward net-zero embodied carbon structural systems by 2050. But how do we get this data? That’s where Autodesk Takeoff software can help take your 2D and 3D model information from Revit software to visualize and view your embodied carbon data.
Discover how Mott MacDonald used Autodesk’s Sustainability Data API to augment the firm’s own internally developed low-carbon product, opening pathways to additional carbon data sets and widening its appeal to clients existing and new. By incorporating the Sustainability Data API, Mott MacDonald has been able to make these data sets consistently available across an increased number of platforms, allowing for new carbon insights in products such as Revit Insight and Autodesk Takeoff software. In addition, the use of the AEC Data Model has enabled a critical link between design data and carbon data, helping to drive more-sustainable design. In this session, we will share key technical lessons learned through our partnership with Autodesk, and detail how we overcame some of the challenges we encountered.
In today’s competitive construction landscape, estimators are often caught in the chaos of juggling 2D drawings and 3D models across ever-changing bid packages. Long nights, rushed numbers, and missed margins are all too common. Enter Autodesk Takeoff software—a powerful, cloud-based solution on Autodesk Construction Cloud that brings clarity, accuracy, and connection to your quantification process. In this hands-on lab, you’ll experience firsthand how Takeoff transforms the way quantity takeoffs are performed. Whether you're working in 2D, 3D, or both, this class will walk you through the complete connected workflow—from setting up customized takeoff types and applying unit costs, to managing drawing revisions and comparing snapshots mid-process. By the end, you'll know how to deliver faster, smarter, and more accurate takeoffs that give your team the competitive edge in bidding.
AU 2025 offers construction pros some of the best opportunities to level up their careers and businesses. Whether you’re looking for knowledge and tools to help you and your teams work together or you’re interested in connecting with like-minded individuals, Autodesk University has something for you.
