See how more than a decade of standardized design projects have been aggregated into a digital twin runway for one of the world's busiest airports. How can owners use verified utility designs to drive maintenance and regulatory compliance? In Denver, we're tracking sanitary sewer, storm sewer, aircraft de-icing fluid delivery and recovery, jet fuel, water, electrical duct banks, airfield lighting and signs, and pavement models to inform future design and current operations. As the puzzle comes together, see how we can visualize a clear picture of our infrastructure.

With the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics approaching, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is modernizing to handle millions of visitors. Managing billions in capital assets across disconnected BIM, CMMS, and GIS systems is no longer viable. In this session, Mingxun Zou, James Awe and Michael Beale will reveal how Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) built an AI-powered digital twin platform. We'll demonstrate the following: An Autodesk Tandem MCP server enabling natural language queries, a Python/Grasshopper automation extracting asset attributes to GeoJSON, and a real-time MapLibre visualization. Building on an Esri Dev Summit 2026 presentation, we'll show the evolution from manual CAD exports to AI-driven facility intelligence. Through live coding, you'll build the same integrations preparing LAX for its Olympic moment.

In more-complicated designs, users can see efficiency gains from using customized subassemblies that do the work of multiple assembly regions. In this lab, users will experience using Subassembly Composer to create a subassembly that uses a Decision function to facilitate multiple end conditions along a design with a single assembly or region. Then, using that custom subassembly in Civil 3D software, we'll use the Corridor Transition tools to adjust the design with a high level of control.

Many owners have rich Revit and AutoCAD data but after handoff, that information is often difficult for operations teams to use in workflows. This session will show how to turn design data into a floor-aware indoor geographic information system (GIS) that supports operations across campuses, airports, and other facilities. You'll learn how to transform CAD/BIM data into an indoor system of record for maps, assets, spaces, safety, and occupants. We'll walk through implementation patterns and data import methods from CAD/BIM into ArcGIS Indoors, using location as a framework to move from handoff to operational value. See real examples from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, where BIM data was converted into operational twins for assets, spaces, and situational awareness.

The Denver International Airport (DEN) is widely recognized for its leadership in BIM. As part of a recent modernization initiative, DEN took a major leap forward by extending that BIM vision into geographic information system (GIS) technology—transforming how spaces inside the airport are mapped, managed, and maintained. In this session, you’ll learn how digital facilities and infrastructure (DFI) and GIS collaborated to build an 18-million-square-foot ArcGIS Indoors database spanning the entire campus using detailed Revit models. More than 7,000 rooms in this space management Digital Prototyping are now spatially enabled and linked to identifiers used in asset and facilities systems. We’ll share key milestones from our 10-year Management and cover how recent breakthroughs connected Revit and ArcGIS workflows. From exporting BIM to ArcGIS Indoors to now strategizing about how to push data back to Revit, DEN is building a truly bidirectional BIM-GIS environment—bringing spatial intelligence to new disciplines and teams across the airport.

This session will outline a workflow for creating a Revit model of a steel composite cable stay bridge by using a combo of Grasshopper, Dynamo, and Informed Design for Inventor software. Modeling a bridge structure poses challenges due to its complex geometry, which adheres to a vertical, horizontal, and super-elevated roadway profile. Consequently, the steel girders, beams, and connection details must align with this 3D roadway profile, complicating the creation and placement of Revit families. For this challenge, COWI used Grasshopper and Dynamo to automate the creation of steel geometry, parameters, and insertion points, ensuring accurate orientation for family placement. Additionally, Informed Design was used to transform various iterations of intricate steel connections into families, which were then positioned using a Dynamo workflow. The integration of visual programming and Informed Design has been vital in efficiently producing complex bridge structures with a focus on Automation, Integration, & Customization.

At Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, restroom operations presented a familiar challenge: plenty of activity, plenty of data, but not enough trusted visibility into what was happening across the spaces, assets, supplies, and vendor work. Not a new problem. An invisible one. This session will break down how Sea-Tac cut through the “smart restroom” hype by fixing the foundation first structured asset and space data. Space IDs and Asset IDs were defined in Revit, carried through Build Assets, verified in the field, and connected through Autodesk Tandem and IBM Maximo. That's when everything changed. Restrooms became measurable. Vendor work became verifiable. Operations became controllable. Because smart doesn't start with sensors. It starts with data you can trust.
