BIM has generally been seen as a design solution, or for clash detection, but the embedded data can provide new ways for contractors to both improve their business capabilities and find new commercial opportunities. Leading industry providers, such as Beck Technology, RIB, Sage Estimating and Sigma Estimates, are connecting BIM into their existing estimating solutions; and new providers, such as Assemble, are addressing the opportunity of BIM processes in preconstruction. This class will look at some of the ways such companies are enabling contractors to achieve better decision making and ultimately drive project based impacts.
