    Description

Kimley-Horn has exemplified efficiency in model building by using tools such as Ruby scripts and SQL queries, particularly for larger-scale, system-wide, sanitary sewer models. The Ruby scripts introduced modifications to the inference tool, enabling the adjustment of pipe slopes between two defined points. This innovative feature was developed by partnering with Autodesk to set minimum slopes based on pipe diameter, offering precision and streamlined workflows for complex engineering tasks. By using these customized scripts, Kimley-Horn significantly improved the speed and accuracy of its modeling process. Additionally, SQL queries enhanced the ability to quickly assess pump performance. This involved summarizing results and pinpointing capacity limitations with respect to specific level-of-service parameters. By automating the identification of pump outcomes, the SQL tool helped optimize data analysis and project execution.
