Issue:

Users reported that they receive an error after trying to reopen Inventor files when they are saved and updated or checked in to Vault:

Inventor may crash when saving and updating files. The files are often very large assemblies.

Status:

This incident is being investigated for a possible cause and resolution.

Workaround:

The crashing and file corruption issue has been observed in models that exceed the 100 Meter recommended cube for Inventor:

Minimum and maximum sizes for Inventor models

When the model is loading and saving in Inventor large amounts of RAM is consumed. If the system runs out of RAM a crash may occur.

If model size cannot be reduced consider adding RAM to the system to work around the issue.
