Building Design Suite spotlight: Revit 2016

  • Autodesk Revit® 2016 uses less memory for complicated tasks and views. More quickly pan, zoom, and orbit models using the new Navigation during Redraw feature, without having to wait for Revit to redraw elements at each step.
  • Improved IFC file usability further integrates open standards into Revit.
  • Communicate better when sharing designs as PDFs with views and sheets that are now automatically linked.
  • Work more productively with the new capability to make adjustments in Perspective View.
  • MEP contractors and detailers can create fabrication-ready models inside Revit using content from the Autodesk® Fabrication products (Autodesk® Fabrication CADmep™, Autodesk® Fabrication ESTmep™, and Autodesk® Fabrication CAMduct™)for a more coordinated model.
  • Improve data integrity within BIM workflows through better integration between Revit and structural analysis software.
  • Better communicate design loads from Revit to a steel connection designer or fabricator with new Member Forces for connection design.

Work more productively with improved interoperability in Building Design Suite

  • With AutoCAD® 2016 you can now model in-context and avoid design clashes using a Navisworks® model as an underlay.
  • More accurately defined design models in Revit 2016 means you can better connect design to detailing. Increased information completeness for structural objects properties and characteristics improves Interoperability between steel detailing software and Revit
  • You can use a detailed Revit model to generate documents for fabrication.  Interoperability between Revit and Autodesk® Advance Steel helps provide a seamless BIM workflow from steel design to fabrication.
  • Import Revit files into 3ds Max® (Building Design Suite Premium and Ultimate editions) up to 10x faster than before to create visuals and movies. 3ds Max users can now directly import and file link RVT files using a new, tighter Revit integration. The new integration provides enhanced features including improved instancing, additional BIM data, and multiple cameras.
