INSTALLATION

The installation for Vault Data Standard for Vault 2017.3.1 Update is straightforward.

The Vault Data Standard for Vault 2017.3.1 Update for Autodesk Vault 2017 System Requirements are:

Important:

This update is a Multilanguage build that contains the full Setup for Vault Data Standard for 2017. Therefore, it is not necessary to install Vault Data Standard 2017 or any of the earlier Vault Data Standard 2017 Updates prior to this update.

If this update will be applied to an existing installation, Autodesk recommends making a backup first. Even though customized files – like AutoCAD.xaml and Inventor.xaml or other XML and ps1 files – might not be overwritten by this update, you must move them to another folder so that the setup can install new content. After the installation, the customized files and the new installed files must be merged manually.

HELP:

You can find the administrator's help online. In addition, end user help is available for basic tasks. However, since the Data Standard dialog is fully customizable by the administrator, workflows may differ from those described in the help.

  2. General Data Standard Help for End Users

KNOWN ISSUES:

Data Standard:

  1. If you click the CAD/BOM tab in the Vault Explorer preview and only zeros are displayed, this means that the BOM view in Inventor is not enabled for Vault. Go to the Manage tab in Inventor and open up Bill of Materials. Right-click on the structured tab and select Enable BOM View. The CAD/BOM preview will work now. See the Inventor Help for more information.
  2. If Data Standard doesn't start properly in Vault Explorer, restart the Vault Client.
  3. In case the ribbon “Data Standard” is missing in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Mechanical, reload the AutoCAD Customization File “MVFApartialcui.cuix” using the AutoCAD command CUILOAD. The “MVFApartialcui.cuix” is located in folder “C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\Autodesk DataStandard 2017.bundle\Contents\Resources\en-US”
  4. When calling the command “Add Part” or “Add Assembly” from the Productivity tools, the dialog for selecting the numbering scheme is not available. Workaround: Disable Data Standard in the Data Standard ribbon tab. Use command “Add Part” or “Add Assembly” as usual. Enable Data Standard again.
  5. A version of Data Standard might appear two times in the list of installed programs on the control panel. This happens if Data Standard is installed with different language setups. The installation of the program is correct and it will be working correctly.
  6. The tab “CAD BOM” only works with Inventor components that are marked as “Normal” in the Inventor CAD BOM. Other components might be missing.
  7. With active Vault numbering schemes, the Data Standard dialog for generated components (like Frame Generator parts) no longer displays the numbering scheme when selecting another component in the Data Standard dialog. The numbering scheme that was first selected is still active.
  8. With active Vault numbering schemes, there is no validation in Data Standard for Inventor whether a filename with the same name already exists.
  9. When creating a new folder with command “New Standard Folder...” the folder is not created in Vault when the folder name already exists.
