This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and
use of this service pack. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire
document before you apply this service pack to your product. Autodesk®
AutoCAD® Civil 3D®
2015 Service Pack 3 also includes the following updates:
Because Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D is built on Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk
AutoCAD Map 3D, it is recommended that you also review the AutoCAD and AutoCAD
Map 3D readme files. For reference, you should save these documents to your
hard drive or print a copy.
Contents
You can apply this service pack to the following Autodesk products running on all
supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct
service pack for your software.
You can also use Autodesk Application Manager to install the Live Update Maintenance Patches, which will automatically show the correct Hotfix or Service Pack for your product.

The following issues have been resolved in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015
Service Pack 3:
Export Civil 3D Drawing
- An issue has been resolved where the application to close unexpectedly during conversion
- An issue has been resolved where the resulting profile curve tessellation was lower than it was in the original version of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015.
- An issue has been resolved where the AutoCAD Color Book could not be remapped to AutoCAD Color RGB.
- An issue has been resolved where the Replace ByLayer Properties with Layer properties did not work.
- An issue has been resolved where the default Seed file path was empty in the Export Settings dialog box.
- An issue has been resolved where on a profile with a crest curve, the resulting alignment polyline was broken at the curve.
- An issue has been resolved where elements were exploded to the wrong layers.
- An issue has been resolved where COGO Point objects were exploded to graphics and not blocks.
- An issue has been resolved where using certain CSV mapping files caused SS2 export to fail.
- An issue has been resolved where surface contours were exploded to Lines instead of polylines.
- An issue has been resolved where after converting a Civil 3D drawing to DWG, surface contour labels masks were missing.
Grading and Surfaces
- An issue has been resolved where moving a grading caused the applcation to close unexpectedly.
- An issue has been resolved where rotating a surface caused the application to close unexpectedly.
- An issue has been resolved where in the Surface style, a layer could not be set for some style components.
- An issue has been resolved where in Layout mode, contours did not display as expected.
Water Analysis
- An issue has been resolved where opening certain projects in Hydraflow Storm Sewer caused the application to close unexpectedly.
- An issue has been resolved where importing an STM file updated all pipes to the same size and material.
- An issue has been resolved where Inlet and Gutter Spread values were shown as same the value regardless of the actual condition.
Vault and Data Shortcuts
- An issue has been resolved where setting the data shortcut working folder and then opening a drawing would cause the application to close unexpectedly.
- An issue has been resolved where importing a zip file or a project folder would cause the application to become unresponsive.
- An issue has been resolved where importing a local project folder or zip into Vault casued data shortcuts to disappear.
- An issue has been resolved where opening Civil 3D drawings via Vault within Civil 3D took a long time.
- An issue has been resolved where when importing a project with published objects, the published objects were not listed in Prospector.
- An issue has been resolved where when a project under a folder to a zip file was exported, re-importing it would fail.
- An issue has been resolved where duplicate profiles disappeared after importing their host folder into Vault.
- An issue has been resolved where when there were a large number of projects, it took a long time to display the "Select Projects to Display" dialog box.
Pipe Networks and QTO
- An issue has been resolved where on curved pipes, using a linetype with text caused text to be mirrored.
- An issue has been resolved where limiting the extents of a takeoff to a range of alignment stations calculateed incorrectly if the range contained more than one region.
Miscellaneous
- An issue has been resolved where the Command Line would freeze when switching drawings in the Windows task bar while the Level of Detail mode was active.

As you prepare to install this service pack, keep the following in mind:
Back Up Custom Files
It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this service pack.
Administrative Privileges
During installation or uninstallation, you may be
prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this service pack, you must have privileges to install and uninstall products.
Network Deployment
Administrators can deploy this service pack
over a network using the Deployment Wizard.
Close the Application
When you are installing this service pack, a prompt with options to "Automatically
close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete" or
"Ignore" may be displayed. It is required that you close Autodesk®
AutoCAD® Civil 3D®
2015 before proceeding with the installation of Autodesk®
AutoCAD® Civil 3D®
2015 Service Pack 3.
Reboot
After you install, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.
About Your Product
After you install, product information displays in the About dialog box.

Apply This Service Pack to a Stand-Alone Installation
Follow these instructions to install this service pack on a single
computer.
- Download the service pack and save it to any folder.
- Close all running Autodesk applications.
- Insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D installation disc) or make sure the installation source files are available.
- Find the folder where you saved the service pack and double-click the
executable (EXE) file.

Apply This Service Pack Through a Local Network
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on multiple computers using your local network.
- Download this Service Pack and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
- Find the shared folder where you saved the Service Pack, and double-click the executable (EXE) file.
Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this Service Pack.

Apply This Service Pack to a Network Administrative Image
The following method of distributing Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 Service
Pack 3 applies only to administrative images created with the Autodesk AutoCAD
Civil 3D 2015 Network Installation wizard. After you complete this procedure,
any new deployments of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 will have the update applied
to them automatically. For complete information on updating a Network Administrative
Image please see the Autodesk
Network Administrator's Guide.
To apply Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 Service Pack 3 to an existing Autodesk
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 administrative image:
- On the workstation where you initially created the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 deployment, open the Tools folder and double-click the Create and Modify a Deployment shortcut icon.
- On the Create Deployment > Configure page under Modification Options, select Create a New Deployment Using an Existing Deployment as a Template.
- Specify a new name for the deployment, review and make any other changes, then click Next.
- On the Create Deployment > License Agreement page, review the agreement and click Next.
- On the Create Deployment > Product Information page, review the license information and click Next.
- On the Create Deployment > <Deployment Name> page, click on Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 in the product list to open the Configure options.
- Under Service Packs, select Include Service Pack 3 from Autodesk.com and
click Download.
- Select the option to append the service pack(s) to the deployment.
- Review and make any other changes and then click Create. Now any new deployments of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 will have the service pack applied to them automatically.

Uninstall This Service Pack
Due to an issue with the Microsoft® Windows®
operating system, the uninstall process may take longer than expected. For example,
you may wait for several hours before the service pack is uninstalled. It is
recommended to have the original installation source files for the uninstall
to be successful. If the source files are unavailable, installing the following
Microsoft hotfix prior to uninstalling the service pack will prevent the delay:
The removal of an update takes longer than expected in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
Follow these instructions to uninstall this service pack on a single
computer.
- Insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D installation disc) or make sure the installation source files are available.
- In Windows Control Panel > Uninstall a Program, select View Installed Updates.
- Under the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 heading, right-click on Autodesk
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 SP3 and choose Uninstall.
It is not possible to uninstall the service pack if the installation source
is a network administrative image with service pack 3 merged.
