Research Scientist
Pan is a Research Scientist in Simulation, Optimization & Systems Group at Autodesk Research. His research goal is to build and simplify the pipeline of human factor extraction and analysis for design optimizations. His research interests include 3D reconstruction, object localization, human action recognition, and multi-object tracking. Pan believes in the systems that support research, and apart from doing research, he has been actively joining the DevOps work for the Data360 project from which he gains experience in Big Data and IoT.
Before joining Autodesk, Pan did high precision diffused surface reconstruction projects for defect inspection on unpainted car bodies using computer vision and signal processing techniques.
Pan received a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Science in computer science both at the University of Toronto. When he was a graduate student, he studied Computer Vision and focused on Computational Photography research.
