Whether you’re an architect, interior designer, landscape architect, HVAC or solar-panel installer, contractor, building engineer, civil engineer, product designer, or other professional creator, our aim is to make life a little easier for you. Understandably, that’s no simple task. Your time is limited, and the last thing you need is to waste precious free moments while you’re working hard to keep your business moving.
We’ve collected a lot of feedback and have spoken to many of you about your businesses: what works, what doesn’t, and what has you staring at the ceiling grinding your teeth in the middle of the night. Some challenges are in line with what many independent contractors and small-business owners face. You’re wearing too many hats, there’s not enough time in the day, and money is tight.
In our conversations with you, we also discovered that many issues are unique to those in design and drafting fields. Redshift was created for those of you who love to create, build, and innovate. But you also have to run a business every day. Our lofty goal is to offer a one-stop shop, constructed to give you valuable inspiration and education on topics ranging from granular software tricks to business-operations advice.
To make that a reality, we’re building a community of contributors—small-business advisors, software experts, and other industry gurus—to give you valuable information. You’ll also hear from some of us here at Autodesk who have worked independently or have owned/worked for small businesses in our careers.
Here, we serve up articles with tax and finance tips, client-relations advice, tips to help you market your business, and guidance on managing your day-to-day operations. We also share some cool success stories (as well as survival stories) about small businesses working on innovating and inspiring projects.
And we want your feedback because this site is for you. If you want us to dig deeper into a particular topic (tips on moving to BIM, for example), have a specific request for a short video tutorial, or want help with solving a particular problem, please leave a comment.
Redshift is not a one-way street. It should be as interactive—and constructive—as possible. We want to contribute to your day, not get in the way of it. So please let us know how we can help ease frustrations in your daily work routine.
