For a little over a year, the contributors behind Line//Shape//Space (LSS) have been learning about what keeps designers, drafters, and animators up at night and how we can help them better succeed in their small businesses.
We’ve learned a lot. And hopefully, we’ve helped ease some small-business frustrations for those of you reading the articles on LSS.
Although it was a long shot—especially for such a new website—we decided to throw our hat in the ring and enter Line//Shape//Space into running for the 2014 Webby Awards. To our great surprise, we were named an Official Honoree in the Business Blog category of the 18th Annual Webby Awards, alongside TechCrunch, the Atlantic Business, BlackBerry, as well as nominees including Mashable, Adobe, Ogilvy, and Shutterstock.
Wow. Seriously? The Webby Awards is hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times and is judged by an impressive group of experts, including Arianna Huffington, Richard Branson, Martha Stewart, David Bowie, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Skype CEO Tony Bates, and Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom.
The recognition is exciting and humbling (alongside some other great awards we’ve received in the last year from W3, Davey, and Communicator). To show our gratitude, particularly to our LSS readers, we created this mildly ludicrous video below. It’s our own goofball way of saying thank you for sticking with our little small-business site and for spreading the word.
