Samir Hanna is the vice president and general manager for Autodesk Consumer and 3D Printing. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the business, including engineering, product management, marketing, business development, and sales. The group’s creative portfolio includes SketchBook, Pixlr, the 123D family of apps, Tinkercad, and Tinkerplay. The group is also responsible for Spark, an open platform for 3D printing, and the Ember 3D printer, Autodesk’s first hardware product. Under his leadership, Autodesk’s consumer and 3D printing business has grown from its inception four years ago to more than 230 million users and engagements with brands like HP, Carbon 3D, Dremel, Local Motors, Mattel, and EasyHome. Hanna holds a doctorate in engineering from Cornell University, with an emphasis on computer graphics, and a degree in materials science from MIT.
