Armed with design skills and determination, the pair began collecting scrap motors and steel from junkyards, building their\u00a0first recycling machines\u2014a shredder and a small extruder\u2014by hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0have a way\u00a0to process\u00a0the recycled material into its new form, so they had to improvise.\u00a0<strong>\u201c<\/strong>We grabbed a big hole saw and drilled a hole in a piece of aluminum. That was our first mold,\u201d\u00a0Lammering\u00a0says with a laugh. Media coverage and market demand quickly followed.\u00a0Today, Limpi\u2019s portfolio includes designing custom machinery, building site-specific work for well-known hospitality companies like Marriott, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"designing-more-advanced-molds\">Designing more advanced molds<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>As Limpi\u2019s designs became more complex, so did the need for tighter precision. From confirming the concept, to designing\u00a0and creating the\u00a0mold, all the way through to completing our production run. It can be\u00a0very fast,\u201d\u00a0Lammering\u00a0adds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"empowering%25c2%25a0youth%25c2%25a0through%25c2%25a0recycled%25c2%25a0design\">Empowering\u00a0youth\u00a0through\u00a0recycled\u00a0design<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Limpi also plays\u00a0a central role\u00a0in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandals.com\/futuregoals\/?msockid=2648fab07ea76b1d0141ecfd7f106a0c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Future Goals<\/a>\u00a0program, a partnership between the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sandalsfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sandals Foundation<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.ajax.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ajax\u00a0Football\u00a0Club<\/a> that turns recycled plastic into soccer goals\u00a0and other accessories\u00a0for primary schools in the Caribbean.\u00a0Sandals sponsored and supplied the first machine for goalpost creation with\u00a0Limpi as the production partner.
