There\u2019s some good stuff, so buckle up&#8230;and LET&#8217;S DO THIS!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>2.0.3173<\/h1>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sketching<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2><b><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Improved!<\/span> Sketch Transparency <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re like me, you were thrilled when we changed Fusion 360 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to make sketches semi-transparent when not active. This is incredibly helpful when inside a sketch, BUT, when outside of a sketch, it can make them difficult to see. This effect is compounded when outside of a sketch, and active on another component. This situation effectively double-downs on the \u00a0transparent effect. Doh! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this update, we\u2019ve made it so that \u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When inside a sketch, inactive sketches will become semi-transparent (as they do today)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When not inside an active sketch, no transparency should be applied to sketches (besides the regular active component behaviors).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clear as mud? My old eyes could barely see those double transparent sketches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">New!<\/span>\u00a0Copy and Paste a Sketch between designs<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re\u2026 um efficient (sometimes lazy) like me, you get . For example, when I create a\u00a0fully constrained &amp; dimensioned sketch in one design, the last thing I wan to do is recreate it in a different design. Well, now we don&#8217;t have to do that. Sketches can be copied and pasted from one design to another.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8032 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/copypaste-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"875\" height=\"514\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><b><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">New!<\/span>\u00a0Maintain Sketch Visibility on Feature Creation<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the powerful things within Fusion 360\u2019s sketching environment is the ease in which to create and use multiple contours at one time. These contours selections are so robust that even when a sketch is edited later and contours added or split, subsequent features often rebuild without issue. Not only does this encourage you to add multiple contours to those sketches, but it also encourages you create multiple features from a single sketch. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The problem was that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">when the first feature was created from a sketch, the default behavior was to hide it. This does help declutter the interface, but would add an additional step whenever I wanted to reuse those sketches for 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th features. Going forward, you\u2019ll find a preference to control this behavior in the design section, which is ON by default:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8007\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Auto-Hide-Option-Only.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"56\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Watch in the gif below as I turn this preference off, then use a single sketch to create multiple features without having to find and show that sketch as an added step:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8010\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Stay-Visible-Sketch.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1265\" height=\"666\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Modeling<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Improved!<\/span> Interrupt Expanded<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Users have been vocal in praising the new ability to interrupt those endless \u201cCompute All\u201d operations. In fact, it was so popular, we\u2019ve decided to expand this ability to other features and commands. To that end, we\u2019ve added this interrupt-ability to situations that include\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feature deletion<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feature suppression<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reordering of features<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Converting features to direct modeling features<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Computing after editing a sketch<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And finally, computing after breaking a XRef link<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8002\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Cancel-That-Roger.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"523\" height=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Cancel-That-Roger.jpg 719w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Cancel-That-Roger-300x132.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 523px) 100vw, 523px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Notable Fixes:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>MAS Install &amp; Scripts and Add-Ins<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For those of you who installed Fusion 360 from the Mac App Store, you may have noticed that Scripts and Add-Ins were nowhere to be found when you went to use them. That&#8217;s what we realized when <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forums.autodesk.com\/t5\/api-and-scripts\/alias-and-scripts\/td-p\/6900001\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@dbors<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reported this in the forum (thank you!). We\u2019re happy to report that this has now been fixed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Scripts and Add-In Default Path<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Somewhat related is a new ability to define where those Scripts and Add-Ins are installed. Those of you working in the patch workspace will appreciate the ability to control whether or not a \u2018normal\u2019 side coloration will be visible. Not certain of what I\u2019m referring to? Check out the image below, where I\u2019ve kept the traditional coloring on the left, and what it will look like with the new option enabled on the right:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8003\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Disable-Normal-Comparison.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1834\" height=\"543\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Disable-Normal-Comparison.png 1834w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Disable-Normal-Comparison-300x89.png 300w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Disable-Normal-Comparison-1024x303.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Disable-Normal-Comparison-768x227.png 768w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Disable-Normal-Comparison-1536x455.png 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1834px) 100vw, 1834px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By default, Fusion\u00a0360 colors one side of a patch with the applied appearance, and the \u201cnormal\u201d side another color (yellow<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ish<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). This is done to help identify which is which, but some users don\u2019t need this, nor do they want the performance draw related to it. With the new option, you can disable this behavior and keep chugging away with the appearances you\u2019ve applied! <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To change this option, open up those preferences. In the graphics subsection, you\u2019ll find it:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8005\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Patch-Normal-Option.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"988\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Patch-Normal-Option.png 988w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Patch-Normal-Option-300x102.png 300w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Patch-Normal-Option-768x262.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 988px) 100vw, 988px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Notable fixes:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Exposure Setting Reset in Fusion Team<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019ve now synchronized exposure setting from the rendering environment to Fusion Team. Previously, user-defined scene exposure would reset to the default, a pretty annoying experience! Now the override won\u2019t happen anymore, but it&#8217;s also worthy to note that appearance in Fusion 360 and Fusion Team are not apples-to-apples, so it might take some additional adjustments. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Save as\u2026\u2026(blank)<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rendering on the cloud is a nice time saver, but sometimes &#8211; like when you\u2019re away from an internet connection &#8211; rendering locally can really bail you out. Unfortunately, when users would go to save these images out while in offline mode, the \u201csave as type\u201d drag down table was blank! \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This left users confused, and when it would save files without an extension (eg .png or .jpg), their operating system equally confused. Well, this won\u2019t be the case anymore, because we\u2019ve added common presets to choose from! Woot! <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Consistent Rendering Revisited <\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite our best efforts to implement a consistent rendering output \u00a0whether done locally, in-cloud, or in-canvas, we noticed some inconsistencies related to environmental rotation. The translation mistake was between the Fusion and Cloud Rendering server, and is now resolved. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Cancel Cloud Rendering [Mac specific]<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Big props to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forums.autodesk.com\/t5\/support\/can-t-stop-rendering-after-the-last-update\/m-p\/7069351\/highlight\/false#M2009\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@dt.beutler <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for reporting this issue. Apparently after the last update, Mac OS X users were not able to cancel their cloud renderings like they\u2019d been able to in previous version. This odd issue was related to the UI button being misaligned. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HSM<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Improved!<\/span> Toolbar Tweaks<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When we revamped the tool library, the most common response from users was positive. I say <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">most common<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, because some of us, including myself, found the menu to be a tad bit overwhelming. There seemed to be buttons on top of buttons without clear indication of what they did, or what portion of the library they were related to. It was like jumping onto someone else&#8217;s computer to find a cluttered menu like this:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8013\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ungodly-Menu.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1103\" height=\"107\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ungodly-Menu.png 1103w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ungodly-Menu-300x29.png 300w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ungodly-Menu-1024x99.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ungodly-Menu-768x75.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1103px) 100vw, 1103px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this update we\u2019ve made an effort to clear up the Tool Library interface by removing unnecessary items, and combining others. We consolidate the search &amp; command controls into single toolbar, and moved the following commands to context menus: trash edit, import tool library, export tool library, and duplicate tool library. Check out the changes below. Some of those options you knew and loved have been brought over to the Fusion 360 CAM workspace. This includes the option to disable\/enable \u2018generation on changes\u2019, and you can also have it \u2018ask before generating valid\u2019.
