We\u2019re currently developing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/designing-and-manufacturing-with-intelligence-how-autodesk-ai-helps-you-be-more-efficient\/\">Autodesk AI<\/a>, technology that augments creative exploration and problem-solving, automates tedious and repetitive tasks, and analyzes project data to offer predictive insights.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fantastic-features-amp-exciting-enhancementsnbsp\">Fantastic features &amp; exciting enhancements <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Now, let\u2019s take a look back at key feature highlights from 2023, from new ways to maximize your design process to more efficient toolpath strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"performance-amp-usabilitynbsp\">Performance &amp; usability <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>With each Fusion release, we aim to improve the speed with which you can get things done through computational and workflow performance enhancements. Beyond the in-the-weeds usability and performance improvements we made this year, we also delivered two game-changing updates. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/autodesk-fusion-360-data-management-collaboration-highlights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refreshed sign-on experience<\/a> that\u2019s consistent with other Autodesk products and adds an additional layer of security through single sign-on (SSO). They allow you to create and manage multiple design variations from a single, unified model, enabling unprecedented flexibility in design and manufacturing workflows.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"easily-access-and-insert-fasteners\">Easily access and insert fasteners<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>You wanted an easier way to insert fasteners into your 3D models, and we listened. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/autodesk-fusion-fasteners-library\/\">Fusion now has a Fasteners Library<\/a>. To access it, simply select the Fastener icon to access a vast library of nuts, bolts, and washers.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"duplicate-with-joints\">Duplicate with joints<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>The new <a href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/fusion360\/ENU\/?guid=ASM-DUPLICATE-WITH-JOINTS-COMMAND\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u2018Duplicate with Joints\u2019 command<\/a> enables you to duplicate a component or subassembly that has joints associated with it and quickly joint it in one or many additional locations. Among them are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/how-to-copy-a-drawing-in-fusion-360\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Copy with Drawings<\/a>, which lets you copy a design and its related drawings, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/october-2023-product-update-whats-new\/#drawingsnbsp\">Surface and Mesh support<\/a>, allowing you to seamlessly&nbsp;create 2D drawings of Mesh and Surface Models, and the ability to <a href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/fusion360\/ENU\/?contextId=DWG-REF-TEXT-DLG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">place Model Properties and Model Parameters<\/a> into any text field on your drawing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(<em>Oh, and you heard it here first: something big is coming to the drawings space next month, so stay tuned<\/em>.)<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"manufacturing\">Manufacturing<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Whether you&#8217;re into additive or subtractive manufacturing, there is sure to be something this year that has the potential to completely change the way you work. Part of this effort meant releasing new and exciting milling toolpaths to automate your manufacturing process, and the other part involved making quality-of-life enhancements and updates to our <a href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/fusion360\/ENU\/?guid=MFG-TOOL-LIBRARY-OVERVIEW\">Tool Library<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cam.autodesk.com\/machineslist\">Machine library<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"milling\">Milling<\/h4>\n\n\n<p><a>The <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/fusion360\/ENU\/?contextId=MFG-3D-FLAT-MACHINE-INCLINED-FLATS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deburr Toolpath Strategy<\/a> automatically detects all of the external sharp edges and removes remaining burrs across the entirety of the part, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/deburring-autodesk-fusion-360-tutorial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Geodesic Toolpath Strategy<\/a> allows freeform surfaces to be machined using either a Blend or Scallop type, and <a href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/fusion360\/ENU\/?contextId=MFG-3D-FLAT-MACHINE-INCLINED-FLATS\">Incline Flats<\/a> for the Flat Machining Toolpath detects your defined tilt angle range and finds and cuts all the flats within that range.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"turning\">Turning<\/h4>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/july-2023-product-update-whats-new\/#Manufacturing\">Allow Inside to Outside for Face Turning<\/a> gives you the ability to face a part starting from the smallest diameter and working your way out to the largest. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/july-2023-product-update-whats-new\/#Manufacturing\">Machine Groove Undercuts for Profile Finishing<\/a> lets you move vertically into the undercut region to allow the finish machining of the undercut diameter. Last but not least, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/july-2023-product-update-whats-new\/#Manufacturing\">Back Wall Collision Checking for Undercuts for Groove Finishing<\/a> helps you minimize potential collisions while maximizing the undercut area. <\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"additive-manufacturing\">Additive manufacturing <\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Additive Manufacturing has been a massive game changer in the way we dream, prototype, and create. This year, we added numerous additive advancements to help you create more sustainable designs, increase efficiency, and optimize workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/january-2023-major-product-update\/#Additive\">Additive Simulation<\/a> helps you visualize your build process before sending it to your machine to&nbsp;determine the warp and deformation characteristics of your build.<a href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/fusion360\/ENU\/?guid=MFG-AM-HOW-TO-DISPLAY-PRINT-STATISTICS\"> FFF Energy Consumption Prediction<\/a> lets you see the energy and filament costs associated with your print from within Fusion. <a href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/fusion360\/ENU\/?guid=MFG-AM-HOW-TO-ADD-VOLUME-SUPPORTS\">Angled Volume Support<\/a> lets you introduce a pivot point in the support path, so that the support structure can bend around that point to keep away from surfaces directly below the supported face. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our robust additive capabilities also led us to new heights \u2014 Fusion took home the <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/who-won-the-2023-3d-printing-industry-awards-226712\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Software Tool of the Year award<\/a> at the 2023&nbsp;3D Printing Industry Awards!<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"generative-design-amp-simulation\">Generative design &amp; simulation<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re committed to providing you with tools that can help you streamline and optimize your tedious workflows. In just minutes, automated modeling provides multiple, editable design alternatives based on the surfaces you want to connect and the bodies you want to avoid.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"generative-design-symmetry-plane\">Generative design Symmetry Plane<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Previously available as part of our Experimental Generative Solvers and Features preview, the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/fusion360\/ENU\/?guid=SIM-SO-SYMMETRY-PLANE-CONCEPT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Symmetry Plane<\/a> option is now officially part of the Generative Design Extension. This tool enables you to define up to three orthogonal planes of symmetry to enforce the design outcomes and drive symmetric editing in the Tspline form body.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"injection-molding-simulation-reports\">Injection molding simulation reports<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>You can now generate customized reports for Injection Molding Simulation studies.
