And that\u2019s especially true for the helmet.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more than 50 years, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oneal.eu\/en\/mtb\/helmets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">O\u2019NEAL<\/a> has been synonymous with the design and development of protective apparel and accessories focused on safety. Recently, the company collaborated with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quin.design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quintessential Design<\/a> to develop a new helmet that could save a rider\u2019s life in more ways than one.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"O&rsquo;NEAL and Quintessential Design Deliver a Smarter, Safer Helmet with Autodesk Fusion\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rWD0J4iXK1w?start=1&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen style=\"aspect-ratio:500 \/ 281;width:100%;height:auto;\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fusion-reduces-average-design-process-time-by-4x\">Fusion reduces average design process time by 4X<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>For this new helmet design, O\u2019NEAL incorporated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quin.design\/pages\/support\/#ride-now-pay-later\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quin<\/a>, a sensor device inserted into the base of the helmet that connects to an app on the rider\u2019s mobile phone. Unlike average crash detectors, Quin locates and tracks crashes much more precisely. It can even inform an emergency service provider if the rider is in a severe crash.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since both O\u2019NEAL and Quintessential Design use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/free-trial?mktvar002=4333583001|ORG|&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=other&amp;utm_campaign=4333583dmblogf360&amp;utm_id=4333583001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Autodesk Fusion<\/a> for their designs, the teams were able to seamlessly bring the product, hardware, and software together.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFusion helped us a lot because we were working with three types of companies, and therefore you need one hub where all the data and all the R&amp;D work is being stored and managed,\u201d says Thomas Adam Saier, head of design, O&#8217;NEAL Europe. \u201cI think Fusion helped us save on costs because if you take an average design process of such an implementation, it takes up to 24 months.
