We introduced a new feature called Read-Only For Me as part of our recent release. This new functionality lets you temporarily make a design read-only for yourself. This means that you&#8217;re free to navigate the design while other project members continue editing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-use-readonly-for-me\"><meta charset=\"utf-8\">How to use Read-Only For Me<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>You can make a design read-only for you before you make any savable changes or after you&#8217;ve made a savable change and the design is reserved for you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the design open, right-click the default component in the <strong>Browser<\/strong> and select <strong>Read-Only For Me<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"318\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-1.jpg\" alt=\"fusion-360-read-only-for-me-open-menu\" class=\"wp-image-27652\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-1.jpg 318w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-1-300x297.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-1-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 318px) 100vw, 318px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;ve already edited a design that is reserved by you,&nbsp;when you use <strong>Read-Only For Me<\/strong>,&nbsp;Fusion 360 releases your reservation so that another project member can edit the design and save their changes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Read-Only<\/strong>&nbsp;menu displays at the top of the canvas, indicating that the design is read-only.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A lock icon also displays next to the design name on the document tab.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Browser<\/strong>, if you right-click the default component, you can also hover over <strong>Read-Only For Me<\/strong> in the context menu to see the current status of the design:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Current Status: Read-Only<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Current Status: Savable<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you decide you want to save your changes after all, on the <strong>Read-Only<\/strong> menu, click <strong>Make Savable<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"428\" height=\"152\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-2.png\" alt=\"fusion-360-read-only-for-me-make-savable\" class=\"wp-image-27658\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-2.png 428w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-2-300x107.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 428px) 100vw, 428px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If another project member doesn&#8217;t reserve the design, Fusion 360 will automatically reserve it for you. Giving you the ability to continue working or save changes. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If other project members make changes, you can now load and merge those changes with your own before saving.
