The assembly&nbsp;will contain&nbsp;a mix of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/components-vs-bodies-tips-fusion-360\/\">components<\/a> designed&nbsp;and manufactured in-house, components manufactured by a third party, and off-the-shelf components. Additionally, it will&nbsp;include&nbsp;drawings of the&nbsp;designed&nbsp;components&nbsp;and common hardware, such as&nbsp;threaded inserts,&nbsp;fasteners, and hinges.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-create-projectsnbsp\">How to Create Projects <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>You can create a new project&nbsp;from the&nbsp;<strong>Data Panel<\/strong>&nbsp;in Fusion 360 or from <strong>Fusion Team<\/strong>&nbsp;in a&nbsp;web browser.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"603\" height=\"268\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/2-CreateProjectFusion-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"create-collaborative-project-in-fusion-360\" class=\"wp-image-25497\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/2-CreateProjectFusion-1-1.jpg 603w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/2-CreateProjectFusion-1-1-300x133.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 603px) 100vw, 603px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In Fusion 360, expand the <strong>Data Panel<\/strong>, then click the <strong>Home<\/strong> icon to navigate to the top of the data structure.<\/li><li>Click <strong>New Project<\/strong>, and a new project appears in the project list.<\/li><li>Enter a name for the project<\/li><li>Pin the project if you&#8217;d like it to be pinned to the top of the list (optional)<\/li><li>Double-click to open the project<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When you create a project from the&nbsp;<strong>Data Panel<\/strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Project Type<\/strong>&nbsp;default setting is&nbsp;<strong>Closed<\/strong>. Then you can manage project settings,&nbsp;members, and content in a web browser.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-create-anbspfolder-structurenbsp\">How to Create a Folder Structure <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;new&nbsp;project has no folder structure to start with. You can save a new design and start working immediately on smaller projects. However, for more complex projects with multiple collaborators, you\u2019ll&nbsp;want to set up a system from the beginning to help keep your team and project organized.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"612\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/3-FolderStructureWide-1024x612.jpg\" alt=\"fusion-360-folder-structure\" class=\"wp-image-25502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/3-FolderStructureWide-1024x612.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/3-FolderStructureWide-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/3-FolderStructureWide-768x459.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/3-FolderStructureWide.jpg 1205w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the&nbsp;<strong>Data Panel<\/strong>,&nbsp;with the project open, click&nbsp;<strong>New Folder<\/strong>, and a new folder appears in the project.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Enter a name for the folder<\/li><li>Repeat the process for each folder and subfolder you need<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>For&nbsp;this&nbsp;<strong>Arcade&nbsp;<\/strong>example,&nbsp;you might want to create a:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Manufactured&nbsp;<\/strong>folder to contain the components you\u2019ll design and manufacture&nbsp;in-house&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Purchased&nbsp;<\/strong>folder for components you\u2019ll&nbsp;purchase off the shelf, like the controls&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Drawings&nbsp;<\/strong>folder to contain any drawings to send to third party manufacturers&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Data Sheets<\/strong>&nbsp;folder to contain any specifications or data sheets associated with components in the design&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Hardware&nbsp;<\/strong>folder for any hardware you\u2019ll use, like threaded inserts, fasteners, and hinges&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"pro-tip-commonnbspcomponent-projectsnbsp\">Pro Tip: Common Component Projects <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>You can&nbsp;store&nbsp;all&nbsp;the common&nbsp;components, such as&nbsp;hardware,&nbsp;electrical connectors, or fittings,&nbsp;directly in the project. However, if you&nbsp;use a lot of the same hardware in multiple different assemblies, you may want to create dedicated&nbsp;projects&nbsp;to contain common components.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This way, you can manage access to these&nbsp;projects&nbsp;separately,&nbsp;organize&nbsp;them&nbsp;in a way that\u2019s easy to navigate,&nbsp;and&nbsp;insert the hardware as external components in multiple assemblies&nbsp;across&nbsp;different projects.
