Access the Preferences in the 3-bar menu (technically known as the “hamburger” icon) and select preferences.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1. Automatic versioning\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Leave this checked if you like the software to autosave versions for you, following the time intervals that you told it to save at. Even if you’re old school like me and would rather save a version on my own, i’d still leave this option checked.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Tooltips, command prompts, and tip & tricks\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Once you’ve gotten familiar with Fusion 360, you have the option to turn these helpers off by checking\/unchecking them in the General area:<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Reverse zoom direction<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

For those who like inverted controls, checking this option will allow you to reverse the zoom direction on your middle mouse wheel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4. 3D sketching of lines and Splines<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you want to sketch lines<\/a> and Splines in 3D<\/a>, make sure you have that option checked under General > Fusion 360. I would leave this option unchecked unless I know that I want to use 3D sketch – this will allow me to avoid unexpected wonky sketch behavior while I make my sketches.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Transparency Effect<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Toggling between Better performance to Better Display will improve the way transparent materials look on your models…but it may also use up more GPU power and yield slower performance based on the specs of your local machine, so use wisely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
