We will look at how to create the first setup and a couple of the rocker arm paths. We will create setup 1 and two of the toolpaths for the setup. Click Open Data Panel to display the data panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d30348ffb6.png\" alt=\"fusion-360-data-upload\" title=\"CAM5.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fusion uses projects to organize designs and related data. Select the desired project from the drop-down, then click Upload to select the files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d303589b4b.png\" alt=\"fusion-360-naming-convention\" title=\"CAM6.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Select Files, then browse to the location where you downloaded the files attached to this post. Select rocker arm.f3d and rocker arm FINAL.cam360, then click Open. Click Upload to begin the upload process. The files are uploaded to your A360 hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A dialog is displayed to show the progress of the upload and translation process. You can close this dialog and continue working in Fusion while the file processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d30369862e.png\" alt=\"fusion-360-uploading-progress\" title=\"CAM7.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"go-to-the-fusion-cam-workspace\">Go to the Fusion CAM Workspace<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>When the upload is complete, the files are listed in the data panel. Close the Upload progress dialog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right-click on the thumbnail and select Open to open the uploaded design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3037ab510.png\" alt=\"fusion-360-cam-open-project\" title=\"CAM8.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The rocker arm Fusion design is opened. We want to create toolpaths on this 3D design. Click File &gt; New Toolpath from Design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3038c840b.png\" alt=\"new-toolpath-from-design\" title=\"CAM9.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"create-a-setup\">Create a Setup<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>You are taken to the CAM workspace with the rocker arm design loaded. The first step is to create a setup then define the stock size and orientation: Orient, the model as shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3039d1447.png\" alt=\"fusion-360-cam-rocker-arm-design\" title=\"CAM10.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Browser, click Change Active units and select Inch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d303bf19fa.png\" alt=\"change-active-units\" title=\"CAM11.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Setup to define the stock size and orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d303d06024.png\" alt=\"cam-stock-size\" title=\"CAM12.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Stock Point, then select the upper right stock point to move the triad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d303deedf9.png\" alt=\"CAM13.png\" title=\"CAM13.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the HEAD of the blue arrow to flip it up. Verify that the blue arrow (Z-axis) is pointing up, the green arrow (Y-axis) is pointing to the right, and the red arrow (X-axis) is pointing towards you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d303f92af4.png\" alt=\"CAM14.png\" title=\"CAM14.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the Stock tab to define the stock size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Change Mode to Relative size box.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stock Side Offset: 0.15 in<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stock Top Offset: 0.5 in<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stock Bottom Offset: 0.5 in<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Click OK to finish the setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3040f237a.png\" alt=\"CAM15.png\" title=\"CAM15.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"create-a-face-operation\">Create a Face Operation<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Now we will define two toolpaths to show how this works in Fusion. Start by clicking the Face command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3042d3798.png\" alt=\"CAM16.png\" title=\"CAM16.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Select next to Tool to pick the tool to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d30445b9d5.png\" alt=\"CAM17.png\" title=\"CAM17.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the Windows and Mac interfaces for the tool library are different. Both libraries are shown below. Select the 2\u201d Face Mill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Windows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3045781c9.png\" alt=\"CAM18.png\" title=\"CAM18.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mac:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3046c0bf6.png\" alt=\"CAM19.png\" title=\"CAM19.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click OK to finish the toolpath definition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d30485b81e.png\" alt=\"CAM20.png\" title=\"CAM20.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"create-a-clearing-operation\">Create a Clearing Operation<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Click 2D Adaptive Clearing to begin defining the second CAM toolpath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d304a43ea0.png\" alt=\"CAM21.png\" title=\"CAM21.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Select next to Tool to pick the tool to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d304b55b3c.png\" alt=\"CAM22.png\" title=\"CAM22.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Select a Flat End Mill with a 0.5 in diameter and a Flute Length greater than 2 in.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"windows\"><strong>Windows<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d304c73ffa.png\" alt=\"CAM23.png\" title=\"CAM23.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mac\"><strong>Mac<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d304e67240.png\" alt=\"CAM24.png\" title=\"CAM24.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the Geometry tab, then select Pocket Selection. Click the top outside edge of the part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d304fe2529.png\" alt=\"CAM25.png\" title=\"CAM25.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the Heights tab. Set the Bottom Height to Model bottom, then set the Offset to -0.05 in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d30516009f.png\" alt=\"CAM26.png\" title=\"CAM26.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click OK to complete the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d30531ce4b.png\" alt=\"CAM27.png\" title=\"CAM27.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"simulate-cam-toolpaths\">Simulate CAM Toolpaths<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Now we will review the completed toolpaths, simulate the operations, and post the NC code. In the Data Panel, right-click on rocker arm FINAL and select Open. This loads the rocker arm with the three completed setups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3054aca1c.png\" alt=\"CAM28.png\" title=\"CAM28.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Orient, the model as shown and select Setup 1 in the Browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d3056b816e.png\" alt=\"CAM29.png\" title=\"CAM29.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Simulate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d305874f06.png\" alt=\"CAM30.png\" title=\"CAM30.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Enable Stock in the Simulate dialog box, then click the Start the Simulation button at the application&#8217;s bottom. The operations in Setup 1 are simulated. You can step forward and back or change the speed of the simulation. Close the dialog box when done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d30597b345.png\" alt=\"CAM31.png\" title=\"CAM31.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Select all three setups, then click Post Process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d305b0abee.png\" alt=\"CAM32.png\" title=\"CAM32.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click OK to the warning about multiple WCS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d305c20ebc.png\" alt=\"post-processor-alert\" title=\"CAM33.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Post Process dialog box:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set Post Configuration to haas.cps \u2013 Generic HAAS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set Program name or number to 1234.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click OK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autodesk.com\/products\/fusion-360\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/img_602d305d408a9.png\" alt=\"fusion-360-cam-post-processor\" title=\"CAM34.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Enter 1234 in the Save As field and click Save to name the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Review the code in the NC Editor, then click Close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019re done!
