We continually look to gather customer feedback to modify and improve our offerings. We have done a number of things recently to gather feedback and information on generative design in Fusion 360. As many of you may remember, at the end of 2019 we ran a promotion that allowed users to use generative design without incurring a cost by consuming cloud credits. In the beginning of 2020 we also provided a survey that many of you took part in providing us feedback on this exciting new way to design.

Two things stood out loud and clear from what you told us.

  1. You wanted it to be easier to experiment with generating outcomes without committing to an unknown level of investment.
  2. You wanted more content to help you learn generative design.

Most recently, many of our commercial subscribers were taking place in a test that we were running when choosing to generate outcomes.

Generative design study now displays outcomes without consuming cloud credits.

Based on your feedback, we have been evolving our solution to focus on maximizing the value of design outcomes and reduce the friction it took to generate them in the first place. We know that it is important in the early stages of design to be able to explore the possibilities to solve your engineering challenges risk-free, so commercial subscribers can now generate outcomes without incurring up-front costs by consuming cloud credits.

To help you get the most out of this new flexibility, we have also expanded our online learning offerings to be more prescriptive about how to best learn generative design. Check out our new learning path.
