Kinedioscope

Paul Ferragut

A kinedioscope (animated "kínēma" + “dimensional" “diastáseis" + “view scope"), is a new technique to create animated depth effects on static photographs. The process to achieve the effect is reverse-engineering the technology of photogrammetry. For this experiment a photograph has been printed and a projector used to overlay dimensional light effects. The scene is from Muir Woods near San Francisco. Custom software with generative light effects is being used to translate the eerie, spooky, and surreal beauty of the woods.
