Coaching: Reduce Field Conflicts with Clear 3D Coordination Standards

Module overview

3D coordination is a process in which clash detection software is used during the coordination process to reduce field conflicts before they happen by comparing 3D models. Any good BIM Execution plan should address how a design team should work through clashes in their models. It should be very clear to everyone what processes they should follow and what each person’s role and responsibility is. That plan should outline what inputs/outputs the team should expect and how the tool they use should be configured.

This module takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Topics include:

  • Streamline collaboration between disciplines
  • Define and assign role responsibilities
  • Collaboratively work on the clash matrix to identify clashes and prioritize them
