Implications for CAD in the Cloud

Chad Jackson

Future of design

It seems that the term ‘Cloud’ is used everywhere today. However, there’s still a lot of confusion about it. In this webinar, we’ll look at how CAD is applying some of the capabilities of the Cloud and what it means in terms of advantages and disadvantages for engineers.

Even though CAD as we know it is going through some changes with the availability of new technologies, traditional design needs will not only be met, but common challenges facing engineers will be overcome. Engineers can expect CAD in the Cloud to improve sharing and collaboration within teams by increasing accessibility. Additionally, cloud-based design offers greater IT support, a smaller financial burden, and a streamlined engineering organization.

Covered in this webinar:

  • Definition of the ‘Cloud’
  • Comparison of traditional and cloud-based CAD
  • Advantages and disadvantages for CAD
  • Financial and organizational implications
