Ford turns to an icon from its past to reassert its design leadership.
Taking design cues from its 1968 predecessor made famous in the film Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen, the updated Mustang sports car received aggressive front-end styling inspired by McQueen’s eyes, courtesy of digital sketching.
All-digital visualization helped improve aerodynamics and production surfacing, among many other benefits. Flexible 3D-surface modeling ensured unique hood geometry and heat-extracting vents that improved the aerodynamics of the GT500.
With its distinctly American looks and world-class performance, this car marketed itself wherever it was driven.
