Peter James Morton is a Project Manager for Turner & Townsend in the United Kingdom, where he currently works on numerous high profile projects across the world up to $70bn in value throughout all sectors.
Peter is a construction professional with over 10 years of experience in the UK. Previously an Architectural Technologist, Peter discovered an early interest in 3D design and collaboration, which in turn enabled him to play an influential role in implementing BIM processes and technologies and the practical use of Autodesk Revit within several organizations. During his time as an Architectural Technologist, Peter has worked on numerous award winning projects ranging from education, commercial, residential and conservation up to £200m in value.
Now as a Project Manager, Peter designs and develops BIM implementation strategies for clients and provides internal support to the organisations cost managers and project managers globally to leverage BIM and streamline workflows. He also provides data validation and assurance for clients using various Autodesk software and workflows.
This practical, industry experience is also complemented by his experience in academia. Peter has provided the role of part-time lecturer at Northumbria University and guest lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, covering topics including BIM, evolving collaborative jobs roles and software training.
Peter has several research publications in the fields of BIM, digital cities and architectural education and has spoken at a number of international research conferences. Peter regularly BETA tests Autodesk pre-release software, attends Gunslinger events and was a member of the BIM 360 Glue Europe implementation team. Peter is an Educator Expert within the Autodesk Education community having previously been a Student Expert during his studies at University; he continually supports the development of students and graduates in the AEC sectors.
