IMTS 2022
Autodesk Booth #133310 | September 12-17, McCormick Place | Chicago, IL
IMTS is America's largest and longest-running industry trade show, occupying more than 1.3 million sq. ft. of exhibit space inside Chicago's McCormick Place. This event is where the creators, the builders, the sellers, and the drivers of manufacturing technology come to connect and be inspired. Industry professionals from around the globe will visit IMTS to discover the latest innovations in digital and traditional manufacturing, experience more than 15,000 new machining technologies, and find processes that will help solve their manufacturing challenges and improve efficiency.
With so much to do and see we invite you to connect with us prior to the show.
Join Autodesk's Stephen Hooper while he presents on Tuesday, Sept 13 at 9:30 am on the IMTS main stage in the front of the south hall.
The global disruption to the manufacturing industry has forced us all to rapidly adjust to new ways of working remotely, disrupted supply chains, and sudden shifts in consumer demand. But it has also created an amazing opportunity to REIMAGINE what’s POSSIBLE. In this keynote, Stephen Hooper, Vice President of Product Development and Manufacturing Solutions at Autodesk, will share strategies for taking advantage of these opportunities for innovation and digital transformation. He will showcase evolving tools and technologies that can help manufacturers build resilience, improve collaboration, and automate processes, enabling them to thrive through the dramatic changes faced by our industry.

Starting a new business is never an easy task, especially when PEMBREE founder, Phil Law, felt it was his ethical obligation to ensure the products he produces can be carbon balanced. PEMBREE uses Fusion 360 to realize the manufacturing process, from design concepts to CAM programming and machine simulation. PEMBREE identified quality control as key to carbon-balanced manufacturing. A scrap component has a compounding effect when you are not only considering the financial cost but also recovering the environmental costs. In this talk, we will cover how PEMBREE has used integrated metrology within Fusion 360 to keep tight process control. From programming, spindle-mounted NC probes directly from the CAM system, to interactive inspection routines with handheld equipment. Ensuring that if scrap parts are found, they are found early in the process, preventing additional value being wasted on non-conforming parts.

Hybrid manufacturing describes the combined use of additive and subtractive manufacturing processes to produce end use components. This emerging technology has the potential to displace conventional manufacturing approaches, enabling advances in product sustainability, performance, and lead time. However, uptake of the technology has been relatively limited due to its high barriers of entry; the inaccessibility of machines and software and the knowledge required to be successful with the technology, to name a few. However, as the industry rapidly develops, novel solutions to these challenges are prevailing. This talk will showcase a recent collaboration between Autodesk and Phillips Corp. to develop a combination of accessible hardware and software solutions for hybrid manufacturing. Utilizing the Haas machine platform, Directed Energy Deposition technology from Meltio and integrated CAD-CAM with Autodesk Fusion 360, this collaboration demonstrates how hybrid technology is now ready for the machine shop and how you can reap the benefits today.
