Pipe and Pressure Networks for Infrastructure Design
Overview
Pipe and pressure pipe networks are a standard component of civil design projects. Understand how to create and work with Civil 3D tools that are critical for project success. Walk through the design workflow with project files and lessons so you can practice as you learn. Then create profiles and alignments, edit networks, add labels, develop reports with table data, and analyze a pipe network. As a result, you’ll deliver stronger designs that meet project requirements.
After completing this course, you’ll be able to:
- Create pipe and pressure networks by layout and from objects.
- Add pipe and pressure networks to a profile view.
- Create alignments from pipe and pressure pipe networks.
- Edit pipe and pressure networks.
- Add and edit labels and tables.
- Report on pipe networks.
- Use the Analyze Gravity Network tool to resize a pipe network.

Getting started
Two types of pipe networks can be designed using Civil 3D. Pressure pipe networks are used to model distribution systems under pressure such as gas and water supply.
Pressure pipe networks are used for main water systems, while gravity pipe systems are used for storm water and sewer. Discover how pressure pipes in Civil 3D are constructed from layout or by using objects.
