Investigating shear induced flow imbalances in Autodesk Moldflow
Continuing the study into shear induced imbalances, this presentation is intended as an update to previous work done by Beaumont Technologies. We’ll investigate variations of meshing and advanced settings in conjunction with the latest meshing and solver capabilities to see if the simulation results have improved to more closely match molded parts.
Predicting and compensating for plastic part warpage
In today’s ultra-competitive manufacturing environment, efficiency is paramount. For injection molders a big part of that efficiency is reducing the number of tuning loops on an injection molding tool in order to get parts within the required dimensional tolerances. This session will explore how to leverage Autodesk’s simulation and inspection capabilities (via Moldflow and PowerInspect respectively) to predict, evaluate, and compensate for plastic part warpage.

Warpage visualization test drive
Review different techniques available with Autodesk to understand the causes of warpage as well as how to compensate for warpage. Apply what you learned with a hands-on exercise to record measurements for a number of critical dimensions on a supplied application and improve product quality.
