Is it not a simple selection method? Maybe you just want to associate certain objects with others? You may need to visit that gray area that exists between selection sets and blocks. That would be <a href=\"https:\/\/knowledge.autodesk.com\/support\/autocad\/learn-explore\/caas\/CloudHelp\/cloudhelp\/2019\/ENU\/AutoCAD-Core\/files\/GUID-C20C24AD-81F5-4E4A-A414-B1A2BC71E041-htm.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Groups (opens in a new tab)\">Groups<\/a> in AutoCAD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Groups can provide a quick, often temporary solution, or they can become managed and part of your future workflow. In today\u2019s post, I\u2019ll discuss both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"use-em-and-lose-em\">Use &#8217;em and Lose &#8217;em<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Your tools are found in the Groups panel from the Home tab of the Ribbon. Click Group, then select your objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s it, you\u2019re done! Now, all your selected objects are grouped together. As long as the Group Selection icon (lower right) is enabled, selecting any part of the group will select the whole thing. This is where you can create named views, making them available for future use. It isn\u2019t intended to be an alternative to blocks. But if you\u2019re working in a drawing for a few days or weeks and find yourself re-creating the same temporary groups, then you might be better served to make them once, name them, and save for re-use again later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-group-by-any-other-name\">A Group By Any Other Name<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether it\u2019s a prickle of porcupines, a shiver of sharks, or a pandemonium of parrots, groups are all around us.
