It\u2019s kind of an unwritten rule in the magic community. The good news here is, I\u2019m not a magician, I\u2019m just a CAD guy, and I actually love revealing my tricks. Today I\u2019ll focus on three good ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First up, your dimension style will let you choose to place the text either above the dimension line or below, but not both. It can be done, but you need to know the trick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Select the dimension you want to affect, then from the Properties palette, find the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/help.autodesk.com\/view\/ACD\/2020\/ENU\/?guid=GUID-D2D36642-C862-4528-9289-D20A04F6CAD4\" target=\"_blank\">Text override box<\/a>. Add X right after the &lt; &gt; (no space) and continue typing what you want to show below the line (again, no space). Does the <a href=\"https:\/\/knowledge.autodesk.com\/support\/autocad\/getting-started\/caas\/CloudHelp\/cloudhelp\/2020\/ENU\/AutoCAD-Core\/files\/GUID-C054DDB8-1A63-47F7-8BDC-01EE6880792D-htm.html?st=Enhanced%20Attribute%20Editor%20ctrl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Enhanced Attribute Editor (opens in a new tab)\">Enhanced Attribute Editor<\/a> ever get annoying? Sure, it has some super functionality \u2013 when you need it. Sometimes though, you just want to make a quick change. This one is easy, just hold the Control key down while double clicking on your attribute. You have no doubt also noticed that it remembers the radius value. However, it can become cumbersome to switch the values back and forth. Wouldn\u2019t it be great to make FILLET use a zero value on demand? Just hold it down while selecting your second line, and AutoCAD will override the set radius and just like magic, you\u2019ll get your joined segments.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Bonus trick: <\/em><\/strong>This works for <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/knowledge.autodesk.com\/support\/autocad\/learn-explore\/caas\/CloudHelp\/cloudhelp\/2019\/ENU\/AutoCAD-Core\/files\/GUID-B1DCF991-90A7-4DB0-96FC-BDA3FB76337C-htm.html\" target=\"_blank\">CHAMFER<\/a> as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-entire-bag-of-tricks\">The Entire Bag of Tricks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>AutoCAD is full of tips like these I\u2019ve shown you today. It may be impossible to catalog every keyboard trick and shortcut, but Autodesk has compiled a very extensive list available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/shortcuts\/autocad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"here (opens in a new tab)\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, the next time you perform one of these little magic acts, and a co-worker says \u201cWhoa!
