This week, I decided to keep going with that theme and focus on another way to work with rectangles.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"centering-an-object-inside-a-rectangle\">Centering an Object Inside a Rectangle<\/h2>\n<p>There are many times you may want to center a circle, text, or other geometry within a rectangle. It\u2019s easy to draw an object at the center of a rectangle using the Geometric Center object snap.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7508 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com/blogs\/autocad\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2020\/04\/Rectangle-with-centered-object01_ppzdx7.png\" alt=\"AutoCAD Rectangle With a Center Object\" width=\"929\" height=\"584\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com/blogs\/autocad\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2020\/04\/Rectangle-with-centered-object01_ppzdx7.png 929w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com/blogs\/autocad\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2020\/04\/Rectangle-with-centered-object01_ppzdx7-300x189.png 300w, https:\/\/www.autodesk.com/blogs\/autocad\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2020\/04\/Rectangle-with-centered-object01_ppzdx7-768x483.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 929px) 100vw, 929px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But what if you want the object to remain centered even if you modify the shape or size of the rectangle? From the Parametric ribbon tab, choose the Horizontal geometric constraint.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select the 2 Point option from the Command line.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Snap to the mid-point of one of the vertical lines then snap to the insertion point of the text. The order that you pick is important. From the Parametric ribbon tab, choose the Vertical geometric constraint.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select the 2 Point option from the Command line.<\/li>\n<li>Snap to the mid-point of one of the horizontal lines then snap to the insertion point of the text.
