You can go <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/cF2VzdUgrfY?t=322\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">straight to the video<\/a> and learn more about the basics of blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Insights:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Blocks are complex compound objects made up of one or more entities combined into a single object.<\/li><li>A block definition contains information as to what the block consists of and objects as well as its various configurations.<\/li><li>A block reference is simply an instance of the block definition and there can be multiple instances of a specific block definition within a drawing.<\/li><li>Block attributes are labels or text that attach data to a block.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-create-a-block-in-autocad\">How to Create a Block in AutoCAD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you have an understanding of blocks, you can learn how to create your own blocks in AutoCAD. In the example used in the webinar, a simple workflow is demonstrated for a dynamic title block. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn how to create a block definition and how to modify the definition using the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/knowledge.autodesk.com\/support\/autocad\/learn-explore\/caas\/CloudHelp\/cloudhelp\/2019\/ENU\/AutoCAD-Core\/files\/GUID-B69D58AD-7920-4198-AB2A-0E24B944F6CD-htm.html\" target=\"_blank\">Block Editor<\/a>. The easiest way to create a block is via the blocks panel on the top in the ribbon.<\/li><li>Alternatively, you can type in the block command, hit enter, and the block definition data box will also appear.<\/li><li>You can sync attributes by using ATTSYNC that is available in the blocks panel. You\u2019ll find some great tips and step-by-step instructions of <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/cF2VzdUgrfY?t=2070\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">how to save a block in AutoCAD within the video<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Insights:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The easiest way to save a block in AutoCAD is to use the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com/blogs\/autocad\/whats-new-in-autocad-2021-blocks-palette-enhancement\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blocks palette<\/a>. To open the Blocks palette, run the Blocks palette command in the command line, hit enter, and the Blocks palette will appear. <br>(Quick note: The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com/blogs\/autocad\/autocad-2021-1-and-autocad-lt-2021-1-update-now-available\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT 2021.1 update<\/a> allows you to mark blocks currently, recently, or saved in library tabs as a favorite, just by right clicking and copying it to your favorites. Then easily find them from the new Favorites tab in the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com/blogs\/autocad\/whats-new-in-autocad-2021-blocks-palette-enhancement\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blocks palette<\/a>.)<\/li><li>You can also use tool palettes and the tool palettes command to save a block.<\/li><li>Another way to insert a block that was defined in a drawing would be from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/knowledge.autodesk.com\/support\/autocad\/learn-explore\/caas\/CloudHelp\/cloudhelp\/2020\/ENU\/AutoCAD-Core\/files\/GUID-B3071AE7-76BB-436C-9BAE-CC54CFBD4F96-htm.html\" target=\"_blank\">DesignCenter<\/a>. To open Design Center, run the DesignCenter command or DC, open it, and navigate to the drawing file where the block is defined.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-use-express-tools-for-blocks-in-autocad\">How to Use Express Tools for Blocks in AutoCAD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also some useful block features that you can find in AutoCAD Express Tools, which are only available in AutoCAD and not AutoCAD LT. Discover these <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/cF2VzdUgrfY?t=2502\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">block and Express Tool tips in the video<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Insights:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com/blogs\/autocad\/burst-explode-bubble-tuesday-tips-with-brandon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BURST<\/a> command will break up attribute blocks while keeping the text as it is shown in the drawing.<\/li><li>Replace a block from one to another in the same drawing.<\/li><li>Converting a block to Xref is similar to replacing a block. There are three ways to count blocks: BCOUNT command for AutoCAD, Select Similar, and QSELECT for AutoCAD LT. Here\u2019s how it can be done with <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/cF2VzdUgrfY?t=2951\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">examples in the video<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key Insights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>BCOUNT is also an Express Tool, but it&#8217;s not displayed on the menu.
