We will be focusing on the 2 methods that Fusion 360 uses to design a multiple-component assembly. Additionally, you will learn how to incorporate motion into this design once you've fully assembled and constrained it. For you existing Inventor users, we will discuss the similarities and differences to help you make the transition.

This popular class returns with an updated look at the essential skills needed to model motion in Inventor software. The class will run through Inventor software's assembly tools to simulate constrained motion between parts and assemblies. First, we'll look at constraints and joints and how each can be used to control motion. From there, we'll look at some of the more advanced types of constraints, including motion and transitional constraints that are often used to model threaded parts, gears, slotted components, or cam followers. Finally, we'll put it all together and use the contact solver and drive tool to visualize a system's moving components. Take this class for a starting look at Inventor software's fundamental tools for modeling dynamic moving assemblies.

The Simulation workspace in Fusion 360 software has been evolving at a rapid pace. In this hands-on lab, you’ll get experience setting up and solving all of the study types in Fusion 360. If you’re new to Fusion 360, this will be a great opportunity to see all that the Simulation workspace has to offer. Components are a key concept when using Fusion 360 software, but they can sometimes be a bit confusing when you're first learning Fusion 360. Part of the reason for this is that the user interface and documentation overloads the term "component." This class will use the Fusion 360 API to help dissect the internals of Fusion 360, and introduce other supporting concepts like occurrences, bodies, transformation matrices, and proxies.
