Описание сеанса

Today, most Additive Manufacturing platforms are limited to 3 axis motion. Further still, due to software limitations, toolpaths restrict the “3D” printing process to 2D planes. Typically, 4 and 5 axis capabilities have been reserved for high end CNC machines, but we are now starting to see their use within accessible 3D printing platforms, for both Fused Filament Fabrication and Directed Energy Deposition. However, machine capability is not enough, CAM solutions also need to support these machines with adequate toolpaths. Fusion 360 has recently produced a public preview to support such processes. In this talk, learn how to use the new Multi Axis Deposition toolpaths, enabling complex multi axis toolpaths for DED and FFF, as well as hybrid process, large scale AM and non-planar deposition on desktop FFF systems. We will walk through the complete workflow, from design for manufacture considerations, toolpath generation and implementation on your machine through post processor editing.

Цели обучения

  1. Create multi axis Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) toolpaths
  2. Apply these toolpaths to FFF and DED technologies, for multi axis and non-planar deposition
  3. Implement changes to post processors to drive your machine with these toolpaths
  4. Identify opportunities and benefits of using multi axis additive toolpaths
