<p>Emerging technologies like augmented reality, deep learning, and machine vision are creating a new paradigm for design. San Francisco Computational Design Institute is a nonprofit that aims to make these advances accessible to everyone, young and old. A community of programmers, developers, architects, designers, and engineers, they are taking a collaborative, community-based approach, building bridges and making their work freely available in order to put people at the center of the design process. Alberto Tono, secretary for the organization, shares their mission and a few recent projects.</p>
<h2>About the speaker</h2>
<p>Alberto Tono is a computational designer for the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. He is a founder of Deep Learning Italia and <a href="https://sfcdi.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">San Francisco Computational Design Institute</a>. He has a master&rsquo;s degree in Architecture and Engineering from the University of Padua.</p>
