Richard Johnson received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of California Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts form the San Francisco Art Institute. His interdisciplinary and research-based practice aims to provoke change by re-framing our perceptions of the city and physically transforming elements of the built environment. Engaging the broad themes of mobility, ecology, technology and urbanism, his projects have taken the form of audio tours, interactive technologies, exhibitions, and architectural environments. Richard is a founding member of both the Studio for Urban Projects in San Francisco, a research based design collective, and Richard Johnson Design, a design build studio. Richard is also a adjunct faculty member at California College of the Arts and has been a lecturer at the College of Environmental Design, UC Berkeley.
