Planar tracking

Expertly and easily track perspective changes with the versatile, high-performing Planar Tracker. Streamlined for forward and backward analysis, quick deletion of keyframes, quick reference updates, and automatic extrapolation, the Planar Tracker works in a way that is similar to the Stabilizer and is available in common Action objects (GMask, Perspective Grid, and Axis).

Built on an advanced algorithm, the tracking technology behind the Planar Tracker help you:

  • Track perspective changes that include rotation or shearing.
  • Deal with lighting changes and occlusions.
  • Track regions that feature little detail other than a defined form or shape.
  • Use GMasks to define the reference region and to occlude while maintaining a high level of performance.
  • Use any of the available media, including the background media, as the tracking source.

Note: This feature was first made exclusively available to customers on a maintenance plan as part of Extension 2 for Autodesk Flame 2015 software.
