A few weeks ago San Francisco Magazine spent the afternoon visiting the Workshop at Pier 9 meeting some of the creative artists and designers currently at the Pier. The resulting photo gallery is featured in the October issue as well as online: http://autode.sk/1MUue28

The article is part of the magazine’s regular feature called the “New Rules of Design,” that highlights companies, local architects, designers and artisans driving the future of Bay Area design. The Workshop is the #7 rule of design entitled “The future will emerge from a workshop on the pier.” You can see all the rules to date here.

The online package for Wired’s coral reef story posted today including a fantastic video featuring interviews with Sly Lee and Tatjana, b-roll provided by The Hydrous, screencasts of Autodesk Memento, and time-lapse of the 3D print at Pier 9. The Hydrous is now mentioned and linked in the write-up, and attribution for the coral print has been corrected to credit Autodesk. The standalone video can also be found in Wired’s video library. (Note that the video embedded with the article might not play on Safari browsers; Wired is working through a few bugs with its video vendor. Chrome and other browsers work just fine.)
