The Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI) program, the cornerstone of the APEX (Autodesk Professional Excellence) initiative, is designed for professional educators that instruct with Autodesk® 3ds Max® and Autodesk® Maya® products. Based on a long-term commitment to education, the ACI program provides instructors the globally-recognized accreditation of being officially certified by Autodesk.

The ACI program is based on standardized requirements for various skill levels on 3ds Max and Maya products. These standardized requirements are embodied in the Media & Entertainment Industry Standard (MEIS) documents. The MEIS documents feature a standardized, modular content framework to help instructors develop the necessary knowledge, awareness, and skills to teach 3ds Max and Maya. The MEIS have been developed through extensive consultation with industry experts. The MEIS ultimately provides the media and entertainment industry with clear definitions and benchmarks for user skill levels on 3ds Max and Maya.

Through the MEIS, the ACI program provides an in-depth evaluation of instructor's proficiency with the Autodesk software and their ability to instruct others.
