This appendix describes the Heidi-Hardcopy HDI interface structure and design for driver writers and developers and how to proceed with Hardcopy driver development.


The Hardcopy Appendix to the Heidi Guide
This portion of the Heidi Developer Guide is for driver writers and developers creating device interfaces for hardcopy output. The Heidi Device Interface, HDI, is completely integrated into the Heidi toolkit and makes use of the Heidi graphics pipeline and class library for fast output from applications to devices. The HDI provided a substantial increase in the overall capability of the Heidi Development Kit providing major new features for Autodesk products beginning with AutoCAD 2000 and associated developer applications.

If you are licensed to use the HDI Hardcopy Driver Development Kit you can proceed to the "Hardcopy Chapters" list of the Heidi Developer Guide.

How to Get the HDI Hardcopy Driver Development Kit
The HDI Hardcopy driver development kit is distributed on a case by case basis by the Design Platforms Group.  For more information, contact them at  driverinfo@autodesk.com.
