Facing complex geometries and other modern complications, the company used the building information modeling (BIM) capabilities of Revit Architecture software to help create the undulating walls of the building.
Detailed contextual rendering ensured that the new building complemented the surrounding neighborhood while achieving a distinctive look.
With Revit Architecture software, SHoP was able to break the wall into component sections that were fabricated individually and then assembled on-site.
Zoning and building-code laws dictated that the building’s facade be predominantly masonry to fit in with neighboring structures. SHoP worked within the building codes, but managed to go far beyond them at the same time. They came up with an innovative design involving panels of bricks extruding in wave-like patterns, giving the elegant building a funky, undulating look.
