This project is inspired by the geological texture of ribbon chert rock formations abundantly found in the Marin Headlands of Northern California. Yulia Pinkusevich wanted to create several sculptures that mimic the look and feel of these rocks. Using 123D Make's "slice” technology, she worked in wood, concrete and glass, while considering how to hybridize the digital and analog process.
