B-Code Biological 3D Printer

Jennifer Berry

Bees are the world's first 3D printers. B-code is a 3D printer that uses a hive of bees to generate forms. The purpose of this project is to envision a future where humans build the way nature can. B-code is revolutionary in that prints are made using beeswax, a biopolymer that is fully edible, biodegradable and completely sustainable. It is not dependant on petroleum, emits no carbon, produces no waste and can hold more than 50 times its own weight.
